I flashed 3.0.0.8 w/ Rom Mgr and it said that it was successfully flashed, but when I boot to Recovery, it shows 2.5.0.5. I've tried flashing several other versions of CWM; they all show successfully flashed in ROM Mgr but still shows 2..5.0.5 in Recovery. I also tried running PC31IMG.zip to no avail. When I try to flash a different ROM, it fails and writes msg to ROM Mgr log.

Any suggestions?

Make sure you SD card is formated as FAT32.

Also in ROM manager, under menu->settings check the Erase Recovery option before you re-upgrade to 3.0.0.8

If you download the file from here
http://dougpiston.com/files/Recovery/PB31IMG-recovery-clockworkmod-3.0.0.8.zip

and load it onto the root of your SD card as PB31IMG.zip (Note: you have to rename the file from PB31IMG-recovery-clockworkmod-3.0.0.8.zip to PB31IMG.zip) HBOOT should find it and prompt you to install it automatically.

To get to HBOOT, turn the phone off completely, then hit the power buttong and the Vol Down button at the same time.

Again, make sure your SD card is formated as FAT-32 or this will not work.

Good Luck!

Tried that before but downloaded from your link and tried it again. When I get to HBOOT, the screen says 'checking pb31img.zip' and then flashes a couple lines of text that disappears so fast that I can't make them out. I've also tried booting to Recovery and tried manually applying the file. No go. My SD card is FAT32, so that's not the problem. I'm no guru, but I've been flashing ROMs for awhile, so I'm not a total noob. Any other ideas?

It's got to be either the file name or FAT-32 that's holding you up.

Try copying off your SD card data re-format as FAT-32 and put just the PB31IMG.zip onto the card and give it another whirl.

I formatted the SD Card (FAT 32), copied (and verified file name) PB31IMG.zip and booted to HBOOT. Same results as before. I then went to ROM Mgr and tried flashing it from there. Says it flashed successfully but when I booted to Recovery.... 2.5.0.1. I gotta be missing something. Any other ideas?

Which HBOOT are you on? The current is v.92.

You can download it here
Inc. Hboots | doug piston

Or it should install with the Unrevoked HBOOT drivers for Windows here
public:unrevoked3 [RootWiki]

That's the only other variable I can think of that would stop a clockwork upgrade.

If you use the Unrevoked drivers, you should uninstall HTC Sync, if you have it installed.

Hope this helps!
