WARNING

-It has been reported on RootzWiki by ?colonel panic? that updating WebOS to 3.0.4 breaks mboot. See his thread for more info.Source

This can reportedly be fixed by running the ACME installer again and installing mboot only. I have not tried this.

As my first post around here I'd like to thank uh60james for that

I am a refugee from another Touchpad forum and have not installed CM Alpha 1 but am eagerly awaiting Alpha 2 when it hits. Looking forward to this forum getting livelier as the masses gravitate this way.

Wait no more, Alpha 2 is already out :p

And so is 2.1, this will push me over the edge when I'm sober enough to comprehend the instructions. ;)

Ah you'll be fine, I found it easier (and less stressful than rooting/romming my D2).

I created a thread here with some links to helpful installs and faq's.

Glad I could be of some help. You will find a lot of helpful people here and quickly learn the in's and out's of Android. Don't be worried too much about installing CM7, its actually easier than the instructions posted around the web make it sound!

Lol you'll be ok. :D

Hey, I'm a software engineer with more years experience than I care to mention, what can possibily go wrong?

Manual labour first, then it's getting installed

The best of luck to you! ;)

Thanks, I installed it yesterday afternoon, a measure of how much fun I was having is that the OH got peed off with me when she wanted to use it.

The only time I went back to webOS was for a Suduko game she is hooked on (I'll find a droid replacement ...) and to charge the thing overnight

I did a bit of browsing in webOS last thing and the relative 'stutter' was very noticeable.

Currently enjoying the Alpha 2.1 on my TouchPad. Tonight I installed Google Earth works great quite responsive, can maneuver using 2 fingers to rotate map. I doubt I'll use WebOS again.:)

Google Earth, nice, I'm installing that tonight.

I did the Webos update.... It did indeed wipe the moboot. and recreating the install steps but only placing the moboot zip in the "cminstall" folder did the trick.

I still like to dabble in webOS even tho I'm dual booting with CM7 as it seems some streaming vidoes seem to work much better in webOS :)

When in CM7 if I hold power then choose reboot > reboot to webOs it only works when charging? While hooked up to computer with USB cable it works. No cable hooked up it kinda works > have to hold power button down untill logo pops up. Is this normal for everybody?

So far. Cm7 a2.1 seems to be very responsive but the battery life is significantly less than webos. I still use webos as I have started working with the enyo programming framework. Seems a shame to let a good os die.

I have been working with cm7 for quite some time on the nook color and the move to the touchpad was great from the 7 inch to the 10 inch format. Quadrant scores are a bit below what I would expect from the better hardware but I'm sure it will improve with updates to cm7.

Newsflash guys!

I set the POWERSAVE governor before going to bed. My battery was at 100%.

I woke up after 8 hours and the battery is at 96%.

Therefore, battery drain while on standby for 8 hours went from 10% (with ondemandtcl) to 4% (with powersave).
