So I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.1.1 and I was wondering if I can still share media things like photos and stuff to other devices like the galaxy s3, nexus 4, etc. with the android beam (S-beam isn't on cyanogenmod). The 7000mah battery is nfc enabled but i may get the 2x 2300mah battery for around 20 bucks if i can't use nfc on cyanogenmod.

So I just tried using nfc with my galaxy s3 and my friends note. Both are the AT&T version with NFC. When I try to share a picture it says that the receiver can't get large pictures or something? Does it only work between galaxy s3s and not any other devices?

OK so I have the EXACT same setup. Please listen carefully. The stock beam app fails to send anything other than small bits of info. We still have no idea why but are working hard to get the issue fixed. This is for cm10.1, all sgs3 versions. OK so here is a solution to your problem until this annoyance is gone. Again I say I have the zero/lemon battery and cyanogenmod 10.1 stable. Please download this app here. press the share button on any content you want go share and press the blue nfc beam button in the share list. This allows you to send not just links but photos and music or any file you can share via file manager. Saved my life! You must have nfc on obviously, and for faster linkups, have the blue tool already enabled in the settings menu. Otherwise, NFC has to first enable blue tooth before beginning a beam transfer. It's better to have it on first. :-)

Follow the attachment to find the icon you need. :-)

One thing I must point out is that every phone has a slightly different location for the NFC chip. You have to kind of slide other phones up and down the battery cover to find the "sweet spot". Hope this helps.
