Per a request from crondable, and to not intrude in the CM7 nightly thread, we are starting new with the CM7.1 updated rom. What do you like? What don't you like?

I personally went from nightly 208 to 7.1. I did, however, do a full wipe (data, cache and dalvik). I don't think there would have been any issues had I not done a complete wipe, but I decided to anyway. I really like how smooth this version is and I really like how the restore screen pops up after you change sound profile from silent to vibrate to sound on.

It's incredibly smooth, but I ran in to the same problem I have with verison 7.0.3 in the fact that my WiFi doesn't connect. On top of that, I was getting freezing periodically and had to reboot about 20 times today total by taking the battery out. Overall I'm not too happy with it, but the speed improvement was insane. The Droid Incredible isn't officially supported by 7.1, but Cyanogenmod finds it good enough to be considered a stable release even though they don't find it stable enough to add to their list of supported 7.1 devices.

Hopefully a small update comes out soon that will fix the problem I was having.

I have bounced around from Skyraider to CM 172 to Nils BG 3.0 (which I really loved for Sense) and then decided to give CM 7.1 a go. I REALLY like this alot. Very smooth, fast, and theme possibilities seem endless (I'm using iKandee right now and it's spectacular). I also flashed Chad's latest Incredikernel, too, but haven't messed with any overclocking, etc.

A couple of minor issues: I'm having a hard time using tethering. Tried with the built-in one and using Wifi Tether app and can't get my Galaxy Tab 10.1 to connect. Also had a freeze needing battery pull last night for the first time - I was plugged in, low on battery (about 10%), and was trying some heavy use at the time.

All in all, I think I'm sticking with this for a while.......

Thinking about giving 7.1 a go today. The WiFi tether issue is going to be a make or break for me. Is this a common issue? I seem to remember having the same problem when I flashed 7.0.

I am currently running Skyraider, but it seems to crash on me quite a bit. At least the tether works though.

I'm still using nightlies, I'm on one that was released two days after 7.1 was released. My Wi-Fi works fine, as does wireless tether. I can't speak from experience on 7.1 but I haven't heard of these issues from people on other forums. If you are having issues I would suggest either performing a wipe and reflash, or trying a more recent nightly.

I flashed this a few nights ago coming from 7.0.3 and have been very happy thus far. The volume rocker wake function is a game changer (since I think my actual power button's days are numbered), and even the periodic restarts I would have to do every other day or so on 7.0.3 have not been necessary so far.

I can't see an incentive at the moment to go for any other rom.
