Hi folks...anyone try loading Cyanogen Mod on a D2G yet? I had an incredible and had it loaded on that and kind of liked it. Let me know...feedback is much appreciated.

don't try it. Cyanogenmod uses a custom kernel. And that is one of the 3 things we are not allowed to alter on the Motorola Droids because of the e-fuse. the others are the radio, and bootloader. unfortunately cyanogen will likely never find a home on another motorola device until the encryption os broken or unlocked. But the xoom had an unlocked bootloader, so here's hoping for the droid bionic being the same way.

Thanks for the info. It's too bad though, because CyanogenMod is such a slick rom. What Rom do you recommend?

Is there a way to change the status bar where the battery is without loading a custom rom?

you at least need root, are you rooted?

I also believe that for you to fully be able to change the bar you need a deodexed version of the stock ROM. So yes, it is a custom ROM, but it is identical to the stock ROM. Just slightly slower because odexed ROMs split applications and services into partials so it can boot faster. only loading up the required info initially and calling for the rest as needed.

Bummer...sounds like it may not be worth it then. Yes, I have rooted the phone so I can use SETcpu to control speed for battery efficiency.

i never checked if SetCPU worked on the Droid X/2, But i know droid overclocker will work for everything and it has a ton of extra features like voltage adjustments

Isn't the same overclocker available fo free on the liberty ROM?
