Just switched from the skyraider3.5 rom to cyanogenmod cm7 nightly #35 for some gingerbread . Overall I love cm7 (gingerbread source) but the camera sucks compared to the stock htc camera used on many other roms. There's no adjustment for photo resolution which seems to be pre-set at a lower quality. And yes I understand this an experimental rom at this point, this is the only issue I could find otherwise its awesome. Is there any way to flash the OEM camera to this rom?

Probably not, it most likely requires sense elements that CM7 does not have. I use Vignette and it works great. You can download a trial in the market. Much better then the OEM in my opinion.

Hope this helps.

Pville is correct. There is currently no way to put the Sense camera on any AOSP ROM and I doubt there ever will be due to how deeply tied into the framework most Sense apps are.

I have found the AOSP camera to take just as high quality photos as the Sense camera, despite having a less stellar interface.

Yeah I wasnt as crazy with the AOSP camera either, although it did seem to take as good of a picture. I did download the vignette(demo) tho just to have more settings back.:)

In CM6 they added quite a bit of extra functionality such as touch to focus, and they are working on adding that into CM7 as well. They might be waiting to fix other things first, as the camera app was pretty borked for a while in the CM6 nightlies when they began work on the extra features.

I have to disagree.. the ASOP camera in cm7 is okay at best, pictures lack a very crisp focus and all seem kinda low resolution and blurry. The HTC camera on the incredible was amazing! easily comparble to a point and shoot with no optical zoom- pictures came out with extremely crisp with great depth and clarity.. it sucks cause i love cm7 all but this....
