Anyone here replace their G4 with an iPhone 6S plus for a daily driver? Just curious on your thoughts.

I may consider it if I was going into a hazardous situation and needed a phone on me that I didn't care about breaking. :D

I have a "throw away" phone for hazardous situations but it is NOT & NEVER EVER EVER will be an iCrap phone :-D

No love for the fruit in here I see.

I like iPhones very much, and am currently using my 5s as a daily driver.
When I feel like it, I'll use something else for a while. Could be the G4, could be one of my Nokias, or whatever I choose. :)

The iPhone is a great daily driver. I get bored on iPhone pretty fast. I can make my phone fit what I want with Android. Plus, the biggest problem is moving data from one platform to another. It is time consuming and a pain. If you use a lot of Google services, you will miss them really fast on IOS, as Apple and Google don't play well together.

It isn't a question of if an iPhone will work, it is if it will fit what you do in daily life and use the services you like. I think the most popular reason I have heard from iPhone users now on Android revolves around being bored on IOS and it's lack of flexibility.

I think the IPhone 6S is a fantastic phone, and it is indeed a great daily driver. Have one myself and will definitely be keeping it. The IPhone 6S Plus on the other hand is a terrible daily driver, the bezels on it are laughable, they're bigger than the regular 6s and why that phone is so big is beyond me. If a phablet is what one is after there are about 5 or 6 of them I'd put ahead of the 6s plus for a myriad of reasons. But I do believe the 6s is the best "small" phone out there. IMO

I've never been a fan of iPhones, but the combination of the 6 being very nice indeed and Google continually ignoring anywhere outside the US, I have been thinking of making the switch for my next phone.

Nope but I don't have the contempt some people clearly have for it :). It's probably worth remembering that if it wasn't for Apple the G4 wouldn't exist or at least be as good as it is. I had a 4S a while back and actually really liked it.

I am a gadget enthusiast first. I am not loyal to one brand or OS. I have liked one over the other at one point or another. Things change. Companies make decisions. I flow with what is working, smart, and fits my needs. Apple has its good points, as even WindowsPhone does in some areas. Android fits what I want and need at the moment, but it is possible someone else will fit it better down the road. People who are "fans" of one OS or Product and hate on all others without exploring them are putting themselves in box and missing out on a whole lot of fun.

They are kind of like racists of technology in a way. And racists miss out on having relationships with a whole lot of great people.
