Hi, I love my Nexus 4, every thing is great as long as I remember to reboot when I charge it. Example, yesterday afternoon my phone had been on 1day and 4 hours, 3.5 hours screen on time (which was gaming) battery was at 36% great!
Went to bed eight hours later battery is dead and media server has gone from 2% battery to 37% with over 6 hours keep awake?
Reboot and all is well again.
After 24 hours something, usually media server or Google services goes crazy and chews my battery up.
I have factory reset twice, then I install my usual apps SwiftKey, skydive, whatever game I am currently playing. Every thing else is stock unrooted 4.3
Is there a problem with my Google account maybe? I have a few books and some music, surely there is an issue nobody would release software this buggy?

A lot of people are saying that it's not likely to be a os issue and that it might be an app causing the problem. Try deleting all the apps and see if the problem goes away, then download your apps one at a time and see what happens.

I would look carefully at that/those games, especially if they are not widely popular.

Check the Play store feedback of any suspect apps; if an app has problems it is unlikely that you are the first to notice it.

I only had the room and osmos installed. Plus rift and blizzard keys.
I am curious as to why it takes 24 hours. I have left swiftkey and skydrive off for the time being as they are the only apps that run in the foreground.

I seem to recall the room did not have a proper exit function so I would always end up killing it manually after playing. Of course, that may have nothing to do with your issue but...

Save and exit seems to stop it. I did have bejewel blitz on the phone, this used to throw up notifications when it shouldn't have, I left this off, this is the only app I can find where people have had similar issues, none caused media server use though, in fact Google play, music or books are still the probable culprits. Apps would cause ram or CPU overwork, this is not the case.

I think you're correct, there is a pop up windows that says "warning: all progress will be saved" ? Love the game though

Well, it has been fine, until I went to bed, read one chapter of my play book and listened to to some music from Google play, once again Google music and media server have overtaken my screen.
I am not going to reboot this time and see if it calms down. If it doesn't I will see if next update fixes it.
Nexus 5 maybe having a rethink.

Currently running vanilla after last factory reset. No apps installed. It's on 1 day 9 hours. 3 hours 19 minutes screen on time ,(browsing, no games as nothing installed, media server calmed down it seems.
It is highest in battery use with 14 hours keep awake! Its either downloaded my music, book or magazines. There should be a setting to maybe do this only when charging.
However I cannot complain about battery life with all services on default, there does seem a Google play glitch somewhere though.
Thanks for the replies all.

Do you have Round-r installed?
I use to & since removing it my phone no longer reboots all the time.
Instead of Round-r I now use "Rounded Corners" - it's not as robust but it doesn't cause my phone to constantly reboot so I'm fine with it.

I have been using Roundr for a while now and experience no reboots at all
Also, no negative impact with battery.

Ditto this. Must have been an interaction between roundr and something else on your phone.
