i am just wondering if there is any danger in buying an already rooted device? Its a little late, cause i already bought it, but i would prefer not to have to flash it before i can use it.

could there be any spyware or anything on it that i need to worry about? Sorry if that is a dumb question... this is my first android phone.

I'd be more concerned with it having an SSH server installed and someone being able to screw with you. By practice, I WOULD flash it. You can flash it with stock software too and go to an "unrooted" status fairly easy. Instructions are in this forum.

Or you could just go here. Follow the instructions to a T.

Slight addendum, you don't need the adb shell w/usb debugging. You can run all the terminal commands from the phone itself by going to android market and searching for "terminal emulator" any of the free ones will work just fine.

I've done that and can attest that it works and gets you back to stock. ie, "unrooting" your device.
