Dark line down center of screen

I bought a used Nexus 7 (2012) a couple of months ago. It has been working great and I love it. A few days ago I noticed a dark line down the center of the screen. It is very noticeable when you are trying to read (probably because the background is white). It stays in the same position even if you rotate the N7. There is no warranty left on it. Does anyone know what is causing this and how can it be fixed? Thanks.

Sounds like its time to replce the screen. If you google bad Nexus 7 screens you'll probably see what youre describing.

Here's a pic of what this looks like. The other "blemishes" are not a damaged screen. I have a screen protector on it. There are no unresponsive areas on the screen. Any ideas?
