Dark Status bar without rooting?

I want to make my Status bar dark, the white one is pissing me off.

I'm scared to root my phone I don't even know what rooting is or how to do it. I read the "How To" but got confused. I 'm so lost T_T

Not possible... It requires modifying the framework. Sorry but you need root.
