Now unresponsive.
On charge only gets hot, won't boot.
Just ordered a New [Other] Nexus 6 on FleaBay.

Thought they were water "resistant"?

I'm assuming it was submerged, these aren't waterproof.

I wonder if illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup

It is unofficially water resistant so best of luck there. This is unlike the latest Samsung S7 phones that do have official water proof ratings.

You mean with rice or something...no.
Will take it out of garbage....just in case.

A close friend of mine has had success with repairing about 5 devices that got dunked in water (pool/tub/puddle etc).
If you have given up on your phone, I'm happy to ask him to try to fix your phone - he is not a repairman (he is a network engineer - specializes in hardware) - just does this as a hobby. You'll have to pay shipping both ways, but he has not asked for any other payment from the other folks (no parts had to be replaced in those cases). If you are interested, I can ask him to confirm.

Better than tossing it into the garbage at least

Without being to graphic, It had running water around it for a very short time.
Oh my...

^ Yup - it was in a hand made leather wallet case with CC's, cash, license all my good stuff.

After utilizing a Sony Z3 Compact for the last couple of days ...might send my newly purchased new-ish Nexus 6 back.
Point being, Will wait for an appropriate Nexus to upgrade rather than buying yet another cellphone.
Like many others...have a box of various unused cellphones wasting away by my desk.
First world problem...I know.

How in the hell does that happen? To everyone, here is some advice, just keep phones out of the bathroom. I do not care if they are waterproof or not. No phone is fecal proof or urine proof. This goes for public urinals also.

But then how will I crush the candies? /s

For people saying the nexus 6 is water resistant your wrong its splash resistant that's a huge difference. Nexus 6 has no IP rating at all.
