Data does not work

Hi I recently bought a honor 9 and put my sim card in and the calls work but not my data I updated my APN settings and contacted my network provider and the data is still not working even though it had worked with my previous phone. Could this be a fault with the phone as I'm unsure if I need to give the phone and get a refund as I don't understand why it won't let me use my data.

Welcome to Android Central! Which carrier are you on? It's possible the phone doesn't support the carrier's LTE bands.
