I apologize in advance if there's already a thread about this, but I have a concern that may or may not be an issue for this Droid X Gingerbread update.
For those that had Eclair and upgraded to Froyo, we all had issues, initially, with 2.1 data being transferred over to 2.2. As a result, there were many bugs, etc. To solve this, we had to Settings > Privacy > Uncheck Automatic Restore and Back My Data, save any necessary files, and reformat our phones, then restore the 2.2 update.
I know this is probably the best way to update phones as it will be fresh without any 2.2 data, but it's always a hassle retrieving data or apps (tried AppBrain, but never worked out like I thought it would). With that said, if I checked the Auto Restore and Back My Data again, would that save the 2.2 securely and transfer that over to 2.3 without any problems??
I never understood why we couldn't check back these options after installing 2.2.
