Data issues

Greetings,

I just got my Maxx yesterday. Coming from the Bionic. I had issues on my Bionic with data drops and was hoping to leave that all behind. Not so much. I've already had three random data drops so far. I heard this phone has a legendary radio. Should I wait a day or two to see if it stops? Just don't want to deal with the frustration if I got another lemon.

Sounds like your issue could be location based if it's across several phones.

I live in a 4G area. I've always had a great signal in my home. Full bars. So far my RAZR has been spotty at best.

Has your phone been upgraded to ICS yet?

I personally have not had much data drop issues, but I've read in a couple of places that people have had less drops with ICS.

Might be the network itself. I'm in the Silicon Valley area, and I've also noticed sporadic 4G dropouts in typically good reception areas.

I have been thru 4 razr maxx and about to go in my fifth due to data issues. I never had a problem with data on my droid x or droid 2. Verizon said motorola has recorded that it is now a known issue, and NOT the network (at least in my area).....

I have had occasional spotty data problems with LTE on two different Verizon devices. Moto has always had the best radios, in my experience, and I would be surprised if VZW 'fessed up to any data problems being theirs even when that is the case.

This has been the best radio I've ever had with a phone. Where I work I have 4 bars with my MAXX. All other phones have been 1 bar for years!!

Well, so far so good. I haven't had any data drops and where I work the 4G is not that great. Still need to charge the battery a few times. I'm not getting any where near the battery usage I've heard about. So far I really like this phone. I can't wait for ICS!

I had all sorts of data drops with my Bionic. Even after all the software patches. Keeping my fingers crossed.

This has been the best radio I've ever had with a phone. Where I work I have 4 bars with my MAXX. All other phones have been 1 bar for years!!

I amost always have 4 bars. But it is strange because I constantly get error messages: "Network error, please check the network ". Throughout the day. Yet, like I said, there are still 4 bars. Then I cant surf the web. This has been a problem on 4 phones and verizon told me that Motorola is aware of it. I have no reason to make this up, lol
