My friend's E5 has broken and its display and touch do not work.
But the phone is working (its on silent), it was confirmed by attaching earphones and playing music.
He doesn't want to continue using that phone.
But he wants the data(pictures and music) and sms from it.
How do I help him?
Its a black screen, nothing is seen.
Screen has a lock (pattern).
Mirroring cannot be done as we cannot use the phone.
Phone does not have OTG support.
USB debugging disabled.
No root.
(He has no idea what the above two points even mean)
Dr.fone doesn't have the E5 model.
What can be done?
We just want the phone to be unlocked so that he can recover his files through usb transfer

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, but if the phone doesn't support OTG and the screen doesn't work, then your friend is out of luck. If the data is important, it might be worth replacing the screen. In the future, remind him that important data should always be backed up or synced somewhere on a regular basis. Take advantage of Google Photos auto-backup: https://support.google.com/photos/answer/6193313?co=GENIE.Platform=Android&hl=en

Even if your friend were able to access the phone via USB, SMS would not be accessible, since it's stored in an SQLite database in a protected system directory.
