Data suddenly dead

NY area, reverted to 3G this morning and currently running with no data connection whatsoever.

Rep in Verizon store in NYC said they are seeing this issue specifically after update to Gingerbread. New phones with Gingerbread do not have the issue. Only fix for now, he said, is to completely re-install system back to 2.2 and wait until a fix is found. He indicated that the fix might not happen anytime soon as they are still capturing how pervasive the problem is. Ugh. Time to start backing up Apps and data...

4g now dead here in Chicago. Was working until about a couple hours ago. Had to reboot to get data and now only on 3g.

Im having this issue on my bionic as well. No data connection since noon. I live in western IL. I can't even get 3g. My bf has an iPhone and he has data working

Interesting. I have a stock, Froyo Charge and experienced the data outage today.

I doubt that it has anything to do with the Gingerbread update. As of right now the problem seems to have cleared up at least for me. I was not able to get any data at around 12 pm. After a couple hours, 3g came back. Now 4g appears to be functioning as well.

What version is Bionic running on? It wasn't a part of the upgrade was it?

I wondered why the phone had been stuck in 3G for so long. As of last night 4G was back in South Carolina. Makes me nervous though. I've already had one Charge pronounced DOA due to data failure.

Just to follow up a week after, data service looks like back to normal in NYC. Hope they fixed whatever it was for all of us. Cheers.
