Date on unlock screen

The way the time is shown on my unlock screen is bugging me, it shows like this for 7:25 am

Then the date is beneath this horizontally and that's fine

This really bugs me - how do I change it to so the time looks like this

Go to Setting->Lock Screen and Security->Always On Display. Tap on Digital Clock, then select Clock Style and change to your hearts content.

I could be mistaken, but I think the OP wants to change the clock display on the lock screen, not AOD. I disabled the AOD so when I wake my phone I'm greeted by the lock screen which displays the clock just like the OP described. Haven't been able to find a way to change that yet.

If it is the lockscreen clock you want to change, then I think it's not possible just now without a theme of some kind.
I've been searching the forums all over including the S8 forums and it seems there is no way to change it.
What I did is get my pedometer to show on the lockscreen and for some reason the clock reverts to normal, not like the hour on top of the minute.

I believe there are a few themes in the theme store that will do this but as far as I know, they don't say this in the theme description so you just have to try out some.

My lock screen shows the time horizontally. I think it's because I have my lock screen set to show notifications. Because if I disable notifications on the lock screen, the time is shown vertically.
