ok so I just got the black 32 gb HTC One yesterday and I thought I'd share this with anybody who is considering buying this phone with a battery life update since most of the threads on battery life are weeks or months old. I'll try to keep this as detailed as I possibly can. I'll type in lines instead of a big paragraph so it'll be easier to read because paragraphs are boring.

I am at 27% right now running on 9 hours 38 minutes of battery time, I DID NOT leave it on or charge it at night when I slept. I turned it off because I wanted to get the most life out of my battery without sleep or stand by time taking a piece of it.

I dont know any battery app telling me my on screen time but I can guarentee you I have used about 4-5 hours of on screen time with this phone, if not more. I do not remember letting my phone stay on sleep for more then 30 minutes or an hour.

But of that 5-6 hours of usage time, I was on WiFi for about 80% of that time. I turned on my phone and resetted it and put it right to charge up until I saw the green light and let it charge about 30 minutes more then took it off charge and used it.

I was on Instagram for about 90 minutes, YouTube about 30 minutes, browsing for about 30 minutes, messing around with the camera for about 45 minutes, doing normal phone set up stuff; editing options; updating apps, and just going through the menu to check the phone out stuff like that, texting, a couple phone calls total time like 10 minutes talk time, messing around with BlinkFeed.

I turn off WiFi when I leave my house, I have location services ON, Power Saver OFF, Bluetooth OFF, NFC OFF, no emails syncing, no widgets, Brightness NOT on auto; its a little under half way but like a millimeter less, blinkfeed (i manually scroll down and sync it when I need it), beats audio ON, phone on ring, typing vibrate feedback off & sound feedback off, flash player OFF.

Apps that are Disabled - amazon kindle, AT&t locker, AT&t navigator, AT&T ready2go, Facebook, google playbooks, google play magazines, google +, LIVE TV, ringtone trimmer, soundhound, tuneIN radio, Twitter, YPMobile

And I just used another 5-6 minutes of screen time not on wifi checking out my options to type in here and checking out my disabled apps and I am down to 26%.

Feel free to post any questions or opinions :)

so what?
i bought an at&t unlocked silver 32gb htc one a week ago
and the discharge rate is like 1 percent per 4 minutes (light usage).
so that means i get like 6 !/2 hours from 100-0

Ok, I didnt post this to brag you obviously didnt read my post.

interesting results......I am almost considering the unthinkable and trading the HTC One back for newer Iphone version because of the painful battery charging situation!.....I don't mind turning this and that off to increase battery life, but from what I've tried so far, it still is a very far cry from the battery life I got with the iphone and that was with no turning things off....This phone seems to prompt me went it's down to 14% and it's not long after that , it's dead...the iphone , I would marvel at how it would prompt me at 20% battery life, then again at 10% , and yet hang on and on and on!....just amazing that I could continue on like that at the very end......what makes the HTC experience even more painful, is that the re-charging time is woefully slow....Like well over an hour and closer to 2 to get it back to 100% charged whereas the iphone would take roughly 30 minutes tops.....

What the heck were you doing on instagram for 90 minutes?? Lol

You might get slightly better battery life by leaving wifi on. Location services can use wifi signals to get a quick low power fix on location rather than firing up the GPS radios.

it wasnt for 90 minutes straight lol it was the estimate time i was on it throughout my battery life

I found that leaving my WiFi on causes it to drain more than off.... Its the first phone that has ever done this, and yes performance mode is off in my WiFi settings. I have on average 30+ hrs with about 3+ hrs of screen on time, so I guess I cant complain much (with WiFi off)

My battery life has been fantastic! I am on stock sense, which i swear makes a difference. The more I customize, the less battery life I get. My only widgets are blinkfeed, Power toggles, and Google search. screen brightness is set to half, not auto. BT is turned off unless I am usiing it, Wifi stays on as well as locations services. Most bloatware is disabled. Can't think of anything else that would impact it? Long story short, my battery life has been great, I'm getting a full day 12 hours or so of moderate - heavy use
