Daydream heat and freezing

I recently purchased the Daydream VR headset. It is a neat little *toy*, but I noticed the phone heats up withing the first 5 mins of usage and sometimes freezes and starts acting oddly. Anyone else notice this? My son got through a bit of the Fantastic Beasts game and it kicked him out to the play store and then Netflix. Very odd.

I do know my phone gets really hot as well while using Daydream. I'm assuming it's the processor working overtime to push out VR content but other than that I have no problems

Mine gets hot, but I haven't had freezing either.I wonder if running it without a syle back (or any other mod) may help dissipate the heat.
