Anyone have a chance to look at the Dbrand grip case? I use the Speck Presidio grip. And I'd like to compare it to the dbrand grip case.

I don't believe they're out yet. Also, it looks like it's a bumper case - no backing. Which makes sense since the back would have scratch protection by the skin, with the bumper doing the job of protecting from general impacts.

Looks similar to Rhinoshield's CrashGuard bumper. Had one for the Pixel XL and it really did offer insane protection with minimal bulk, but had very poor tactile response (in my opinion) for the buttons and was such a tight fit that there's no way it could be used in tandem with a skin, and was very difficult to remove. If Dbrand Grip lives up to the promise on button feel, offers even close to that level of drop protection, and isn't too bulky, it should be simply awesome.

yeah, looking more for grippiness than ruggedness. I've been going with the Speck for years, and haven't found anything that offers more grip, mostly due to the rubber ridges. so I was waiting to see the dbrand

saw that one, that's what first got me. I would need to check it out because I want grip on the edges, which is where the Ridges of the Presidio come in

It looks like all it is is edges - just a bumper. I like grippy but that thing has me worried for how hard it might be to put it in or take it out of my pocket!

Yeah, better pic on their website shows it's just a bumper. Not for me.

I hadn't used the rhinoshield with the original pixel but I did use it with the Galaxy s8 plus iPhone 7 plus and Galaxy note 8 with a skin on it and didn't have any issues with the case and the skin together. I will say however it did take some work to get it on and smooth the case out.

Mine for the Pixel XL was part of the initial product release - it's entirely possible they refined it a bit in subsequent production.
