Dead Battery Out of the Box?

How disappointing. I got back from Best Buy, unpacked it, and it wouldn't turn on. I plugged it in and it showed the typical depleted battery. Sigh. Anyone else have this? I'm wondering if I should be concerned about a damaged battery because it sat depleted for who knows how long. My prior N7 had a greater than 50% charge when I got it last year.

Same problem too. Battery was totally dead. I was wondering if I should take it back, thoughts? Also, my battery dropped 24% over night when it was idle.

I'm having a similar experience. My unit is dead, dead--not even a battery life indicator. I called Google Tech Support and am following their instruction to let charge for 8 hours. Somehow I don't feel lucky... I'll report back.

Mine was dead as dead can be, but I haven't noticed any lasting ill effects.

Mine was dead upon removal from box.

Charged it and it seemed fine, but now it's draining around 9% of battery in under 6 hours of sleep.

Mine was dead also. No apparent battery issues. It will idle for a few days on standby.
