Dead camera (hardware)

Hey, my m9 camera and flashlight died. Repairmen told me that it's a hardware issue and i also tried factory reset and some original ruu but nothing helped. So I'm wondering what do i need to replace to make it work again? A camera or the whole motherboard that's connected to it? In my opinion it should be the motherboard cause if it's just a camera issue then flashlight should be working fine. Thanks for answering

https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/HTC+One+M9+Teardown/39166 didn't point out the camera flash part specifically but does list the camera module. Unfortunately the repairability score is pretty low, so I don't know how much success you'd have with fixing the problem. Sorry.
