Check this out:
I work for a Ford dealer and was demonstrating the Microsoft SYNC system...no biggie as I've been using SYNC since it came out. After making a phone call, I wanted to demonstrate the Bluetooth Audio Media Stream capability. When I switched the SYNC system over to Bluetooth Audio after completing the phone call, is when all hell broke loose.
The notification bar was displaying the phone was still "in-call" with the time counter running. I touched the red phone "end call" button next to the notification but it wouldn't end. I opened the phone app and it didn't show a call in-progress. I went back and forth a few times and to no avail.
The stock media app was running and playing a song but nothing was coming through the SYNC system as well as the phone's speaker.
So...since basically everything was locked up, I pulled the battery and waited a few minutes then re-installed the battery.
The X would not power on. I tried powering on a few more times and...nothing. I pulled the battery and tried again...nothing.
I then connected to the wall charger and I was able to get the phone to boot up...and received this message:
"Invalid Battery" please insert a valid Motorola Battery.
I tried a few more things - removing the battery and the SD card, replacing the battery and powering on...nothing. Removing the batter and the SD card, replacing the SD card and the battery, powering on...nothing. Connect to the wall charger, the device booted up.
I sent a text to a good friend who is in sales at a local corporate VZW store and apparently this is a known issue. He recommended I remove the battery and SD card, replace the battery, and power back on. I told him I tried that...no dice. Of course, they have no stock so it's not like I can go down there tomorrow and get a new device.
After this ridiculously long story, has anyone else had a similar issue? Obviously, this is a manufacturer defect and I should receive a replacement...when stock is available...I just wish I could get something sooner because I'm out a device until then...
Thanks for reading!
