Dead Pixel Only Showing When Other Colours Onscreen

Having an issue with my brother's Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite where a pixel on the left side of the screen is fine until there are others lighter colours on the display.

E.g. if I'm looking at one solid colour, there will be no "stuck" pixel, whereas if the same display has white text or other colours, including the previously tested colour, the display will show the "stuck pixel".

Not 100% sure what's going on with it. If anyone can shed their insight it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! I've seen that behavior before. I'm not sure there's much you can do about it. There are apps that claim to "fix" dead or stuck pixels, essentially by cycling through screens of different colors. Might be worth trying, but otherwise, he's probably stuck with it (no pun intended). Phone, TV, and monitor manufacturers typically have a dead pixel policy, and they won't cover it under warranty if it's fewer than a certain number.
