dead pixels

Has anyone come across these on the xoom? I didn't notice mine until i was watching a bright white screen. Down in the bottom right, the thing was screaming at me. I bought this on 3/4, so I should be under the new replacement warranty.

I'm currently running an app that's supposed to fix them, but if not...is this considered a manufacturing defect?
