That's a good deal, but after experiencing the significantly faster performance of the new C720 at BestBuy, I think I'll have to go with spending more bucks. The C710 is just a little too sluggish for me.

I wonder if there's a noticeable difference between a 4GB C720 and a C710 pumped up to 8GB.

The C720 I tried only had 2 GB, and it was markedly faster than a 1st gen HP Chromebook 14 (I think with 4 GB). I'd like to give a C720 with 4GB a try. Can you actually increase it to 8 GB?

I've been told that the C720 isn't user-upgradeable.

D'oh! I thought it was. Well, I'm definitely going to try for the 4 GB version then.

My $0.02 is that the Haswell processor in the 720 is worth the extra $70. The 710 has 3.5 hours battery life, the 720 has 8.5 hours battery life. It is not a small difference and definitely worth the extra $70.

I saw where Staples was selling the HP 11 chromebook on black Friday for 179 and was considering it but who knows if they'll still sell it since it was pulled from shelves
