Still waiting for the December 7 update on my Pixel 3XL from Verizon. For reasons unknown to me Verizon has decided to delay this update to sometime this week. Has anybody with a Pixel 3 or 3XL on Verizon received their December update yet?

Well that's shocking! Well, have you checked recently this afternoon? My Pixel 5 just got the update early this afternoon.

Yes I have been checking all afternoon. I read today that the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A 5G on Verizon were getting it today but the last I heard about the Pixel 3 and 3XL was sometime this week

All right, so here's what I've realized about the new pixel feature drop in the December update. There's adaptive connectivity, adaptive battery, adaptive charging etc etc etc. For adaptive connectivity in order to save battery for LTE / 5G, where I work, there's sub that 6 5G networking. However, at home, there's only LTE. So, with that being said, I turned on adaptive connectivity which is supposed to toggle between LTE and 5G for the apps that you're using. Meaning that if you're streaming a movie, or downloading a massive file, the phone will switch over to 5G. My phone automatically switched over to 5G even when I wasn't using it. Lol. If you go into the mobile data network settings of your phone, and then toggle global to LTE/CDMA, you will completely toggle off 5G. You do this to really save battery, this is what adaptive connectivity is supposed to do though. I hope this makes sense to people lol. Check out these speedtests....

I still don't have the update either. I am a verizon customer but I ordered my pixel straight from google.

All we know for sure is that Google listed the update as "the week of December 14th" for Pixel 5, Pixel 4a5G and Pixel 3XL for those phones on the Verizon network.

This has been hotly debated on the Pixel Help Community, but unfortunately it doesn't always matter where you bought your phone, or whether it's an Unlocked model or carrier model ... sometimes the carrier needs a little extra time for something specific to be included in monthly updates; that could be Verizon, AT&T, T Mobile, etc. And if you use your phone on their network you might have to wait until that specific build is released.

This is not what we Pixel owners signed up for when we bought the phone.
And I would recommend doing what I did: call Verizon and complain, ask why the monthly security update has been delayed two months in a row for select Pixel models. Post on the Verizon forum and ask the same thing. Post on Verizon's Twitter page and ask the same thing.

Probably it's the carriers way to force the customer to upgrade making him/ her believe the device is old enough as usually pixel owners are tech savvy and definitely knows when the update hits.

Just installed the update and no ability to change grid size. Anybody else notice that?
Yeah, I mean you can make the grid size smaller, but why would you want to? That just means that you can't fit nearly as many icons on your home screen at allñ

Just received the update. It installed OK but in my opinion, a very long time, 35 minutes. There seems as though it hung up, but be patient. I think Google should add icon that the update is still working.
