So currently I'm using the RAZR Maxx and I absolutely love the phone because of the battery life that I get out of it. However, I am really interested in picking up the S3. I've been gong back and forth about this since we launched the phone at VZW. I decided to come to you all to help me make up my mind as to whether or not I should pick up this phone. I know the battery life won't be the same, so making comparisons on that are irrelevant. Price and contract are irrelevant as well because I work for VZW.

Thanks for your help :)

If you work there I would recommend playing with one of the demo units to determine if it is worth it to you.

That said i also own a Maxx and i made the switch. The maxx is a good phone with great battery life but other than battery life the s3 is the superior device. If you are a moto fan you might want to hold tight for the Razr HD that is supposed to be right around the corner but if you get a s3 i don't think you will be disappointed.

Of course we're all going to say 'Samsung's brand new flagship device is better hardware', asking the dedicated board won't warrant a different opinion (duh). If battery life is your gig than stay where you are. If sleek modern optimization is your thing than get your super low cost employee SGSIII and some real problems ;)

I also have the Razr Maxx, and thinking about getting the SGS 3. I love the battery life of the Maxx, but it still continues to lag often, even after upgrading to ICS.
I also don't like how the contacts application tries to merge contacts. It does an awful job, it's not accurate, and messes up my contacts. There's no way to disable that feature that I'm aware of.

To me the biggest improvement over the Maxx is the screen. I love the Maxx, especially love motoblur over touchwiz, however the screen is so much bigger and brighter I had to go with the S3.
