Hi Guys,

I'm going back and forth over whether to return my Optimus back to Best Buy since I'm within the 30 day return window and pick up an EVO Shift. My prior phone was the Palm Pixi and what I miss the most is a physical keyboard. I'm currently rooted and running Thunderom 1.5. Do you think they'll take the phone back as is, or would I have to reflash to my initial nandroid backup first?

you'll need to flash to complete stock before you return it.

Thanks! Does that also mean that I have to "unroot" the thing too, or just flash back to the stock rom?

Rooting your phone void your warranty.

I would suggest you revert the phone back to its original state, and get the EVO Shift.

you'll want to unroot, remove custom recovery, and wipe the device.

if you follow the unroot and flash back to stock guide, it should set you up completely stock for you.

yeah .. what they said, go to the unroot back to stock thread and get the Shift if you want the keyboard.
Personally, I love the LG and don't need anything more. But the Shift looks pretty sick.

Well, I basically have until next Wednesday to do all of this...I was reading the unrooting thread from the link above, and being a noob to Android as well as Linux in general, I'm feeling more inclined to stick it out with the Optimus for another 11 months, until I get to upgrade again. Some of that stuff in there seems pretty daunting!

The major compelling factor with the Shift, for me, is the physical keyboard. I'm having a tough time adjusting to a virtual keyboard, especially with text messages and Swype is just really goofy to me at the moment. Don't get me wrong, I love everything about the current phone except the virtual keyboard.
