AC Question

After recent update, s7 edge will not decrypt my sd card. It keeps saying i have to decrypt in the phone used to encrypt..but it IS THE SAME PHONE! How can i fix this?

Does it ask you for your password, or does it just give you the error message without asking for the password first?

Also, has your phone ever been rooted?

This happened to me too!
Had my SD-card encrypted for almost a year, and everything working perfectly. then i updated to Android 7.0 and it was unreadable. i tried to decrypt and i just decrypted a very small portion of the card. like 200MB. even though there are like 40GB worth of files on the card. i have tried restarting, decrypting and encrypting again. After i removed the SD card and just put it back in the phone it gave me the message that this was not the same phone that the card got encrypted with in the first place! even though it most certainly is.

model: SM-G935F
SD card: 128GB Samsung EVO (GENUINE card)

my phone was never rooted btw. and it did ask for the password at first but only decrypted a small portion of the data. after i reinserted the card it would not even recognize that this was the same phone that encrypted it.

I have the same issue. Worst thing you can do is decrypt. The only thing you can do now is run an app for recovery.

I had this issue when upgrading originally from lollipop to marshmallow. The trick was to disable security. However it did not work for me this time going to nougat.

It just doesn't read the card anymore

In my wife's s7 edge after nougat update the SD card is not reading anymore... Weird.. Any fix?
