Default contact group view

I briefly had the Nexus One and in the contacts I was able to hide all the contacts except the group I wanted to view. So in my Gmail contacts I had a Friends group and a Work group. All the contacts from both groups were on the phone but the phone hid the Work group unless I went in and selected it to be shown. this way when I went to dial a contact or compose a new message no one from the Work group would show up. Is there a way to do that on the Sense UI on the Incredible?

The only way I can think of is in People>then slide the bottom bar over one to "groups"

Unfortunately, that doesn't help you when you're composing a message or email.
