When my phone docks I would like car home ultra to launch as default instead of the Samsung dock mode. Usually to change default apps I know you clear the settings under apps but I do not see a Samsung default dock app. HELP!

Self promoting bump. There has to be a way to change the default dock app.

What kind of car dock are you talking about?

I specifically have the ibolt but this would apply to any active dock that launches the Samsung dock mode. I want car home ultra to launch rather than the Samsung default dock screen

Found this on their website. Let me know if it works.
Follow these instructions to reset the default ?car mode? app on your device:

1) From the main home screen press menu ?> settings ?> manage applications
2) Pick the app that currently launches when you dock your phone (or start car mode)
3) now press Clear Defaults.
4) The next time you dock your phone you should be presented a list of Car Mode apps.
5) Pick the one that you want to launch (please pick CarHome Ultra!)
6) If you don?t want to see this dialog every time you dock, check the box called Make Default.

I appreciate the responses but I don't think I am conveying my question well. When you plug the note 2 into any active dock the dock page buddy (settings - display - page buddy) launches the dock page buddy screen. I want it to launch a different app. Page buddy is not in the app list to clear defaults. Am I stuck with the page buddy dock or is there a way to change the app that launches with dock mode.

Does anyone know what triggers Samsung's default dock app? I've read that connecting a micro USB (with a 619k resistor between pins 4 and 5) will automatically activate it, but that doesn't work on my Galaxy Note II.

Please let me know if you have any answers. Thanks!

So, the micro USB (with a 619k resistor between pins 4 and 5) triggered dock mode for my S3, but it didn't work on a Note II. I've seen videos of it working for the Note II, and certain car mounts claim they work as well. It also didn't work on a Motorola Razr Maxx HD or Droid Razr. What am I missing here?

Maxc50167, it's actually pretty simple. Samsung do not support active car-mode on Note II as they did for S2 and S3. We here at iBOLT have solved this by triggering what we refer to as simply "DockMode" that works across all Samsung Galaxy handsets and all firmware (at least the ones released so far). We've worked with developers so that when you buy an "active" iBOLT xProDock you can use any of the following apps as default "DockMode screen"; CarHome Ultra, Ulysse Speedometer, our own iBOLT Dock'n Drive, TuneIn or Slacker Radio. The "DockMode" also supports aux-out sound for apps through microUSB, which is very useful as it means you only need one cable from the car-dock and the other end will have a USB port for charging and aux-out for car-stereo integration. Hops this helps?

MikaelPe, I guess that's why it wasn't working for my Note II. So, what is this "DockMode" you're talking about, and is it a special microUSB that triggers it? Do I need to download any of the apps you mentioned for this to work? How is it different from the car-mode that Samsung has for the S2 & 3? Thanks for the help!
