Does anyone else's phone sound loose towards the top by the camera when you tap it? It's very annoying to me, should i get another one?

I believe that what you are hearing is the auto focus camera lens. The iPhone 3Gs also makes this noise.

Seriously? Does yours make that sound? It was on my storm also in the same spot. I was thinking of getting a new one. What do you think I should do?

Is it worth the 35 bucks? That would be the main question I would have to answer...I still think the policy of charging you to replace a phone Verizon sold you that is defective is robbery; that being said you can take my opinion and 1.50 and get the Sunday paper...

What is there to tap at the top of the INC other than the on/off button and that's not a tap. Pulled out my Storm and can't feel or hear anything either. If it bothers you return it. You don't need our permission or opinion.

Verizon does not charge to replace a "defective" phone:

If you're having a problem with your wireless device, just contact Verizon Wireless toll?free at 1.866.406.5154 from a landline phone. We'll diagnose the issue with you right over the phone. If we cannot resolve the problem while you're on the line and the problem is caused by a manufacturing defect within the first year you own the wireless device, we'll send you a Certified Like?New Replacement (either a like unit or one of comparable quality) right to your door. Certified Like?New Replacements will carry the remaining warranty period from the original wireless device, or 90 days, whichever is greater.

There seems to be a lot of confusion over the "for any reason, within 30 days return" or exchange and a defective device guarantee. In the OP's case if that noise is caused by a defect it would not cost $35 to have the phone replaced.

no its all good im gonna keep it i think it is the auto focus lens cause it made a noise when i was about to take a picture. thanks dudes everything else works fine. do any of you have any problems with it? just curious.

The wife's droid makes the same noise when she uses the camera. I thought it was broken as well.

I think you're hearing the little metal piece for your headphone jack that is attached to the back cover. It's nothing to worry about.....

Ya mine makes the same noise if you tap it. I was getting a little worried when I first started to notice it and thought there was some sort of problem. But now i see its probably no big deal and just something with the phone. After further looking into the tapping and with the suggestions people gave it does seem like it is probably the auto focus or with the camera.

Does anyones camera make a noise when it is focusing? I can't explain or write out the noise, but I will try to capture it on video and post it. It happens when I tap the screen in camera mode to focus on something and when it is focusing is when the noise occurs. I assume this is normal, but it worries me if I am the only one. The only noise I have read about is the rattle, and I have that too...

Okay, here is the video. It is the noise right after I tap my finger and right before the 2 beeps indicating it is focused. Anyone else have this?

Almost sounds like it is struggling..

You do need the volume up, sorry I couldn't get it louder...
