Defective display

Have my nexus for two days now but it seems that the display is defective somehow.
In the lower parts of the screen when I have a gray background there are light stripes all over. Looks like clouds somehow.
When I view something black the upper screen part is really black and the lower more gray. Is this normal?
I had the nexus s II and the screen was perfect.

Anyone else having this?

I had this issue with the Galaxy S II. These have been known issues with SAMOLED displays. I see whatr you mean, but the on my GNexus is nowhere near as bad as it was on the 4 different Galaxy S II devices I owned.

I haven't noticed a blackness issue.

I found out that if I turn up the display brightness it is OK. So it seems it is a screen technology issue. Very odd anyways.
