Delay playing voicemail via bluetooth in car

So this problem started a while back with my Note 2. I used to be able to listen to my voicemails immediately in my car over Bluetooth.

I believe the problem may have started after a update at some point, but all of a sudden when playing a message, over Bluetooth, in my car only, there would be about a 20-25 second delay before the message started playing. The message scroll bar would progress, the message was playing but nothing coming over the car bluetooth until it would eventually kick in in the middle of the message.

If the message is longer than the 20-25 seconds, I have to keep scrolling back to the beginning of the message until enough time goes by to start hearing it over the speakers.

I then got a new Note 3. Same thing. I then got a different car. Same thing.

So the weird thing is, voicemail messages will play immediately when using my bluetooth headset, speakerphone, or regular handset, just not through the vehicle bluetooth.

Call audio and Media audio are checked in Bluetooth settings.

Note 3 version 4.4.2


I can only guess this was an update at some point that did this, or possibly a glitch with Visual Voicemail, I suppose I could try a different voicemail program and see if it persists.

Anyone else have this problem or a fix?

The plot thickens. Tried a different voicemail program, no dice would not play messages at all.

Switched back to Visual Voicemail and now that will not play messages at all either regardless of the length of message.

But, I happened to be streaming music when I went to play a voicemail and voila, the voicemail message played right away - along with the music!

So, apparently Visual Voicemail doesnt have the capacity to effectively stream to the car bluetooth unless another application, in this case music player, is already made the connection. Ridiculous.
