Delayed turn on

Has anyone inquired of Google that the delay of up to a minute holding the start switch is caused by hardware or software? I have used this technique from the beginning rather than sending the unit back. It doesn't turn on normally about half the time. I was hoping that if it is a software sequence going wrong, maybe they will fix on the next OS update. Thought I would check here first rather than the long way around contacting support (if there is such).

I was going to send unit back when it happened on second day. Someone posted the tip on this forum to hold down switch for up to a minute. I guess I will put up with it until the next improved Nexux comes out.

I had this problem with both my N7's. Its software related cause if you factory rest, it would fix the problem.

I'm not sure what recovery you running but the problem started when I installed TWRP 2.2.2 . I've since we back to 2.2.1 and all is fine.

dont worry about TWRP or anything... just do a factory rest as suggested by someone above.
it seems to be an issue with software but not for everyone so i dont think a software update would fix it.
a reset will

Hate to reset and lose everything...apps, books etc. Will do if it gets tiresome. My only real worry is that it will get worse and not boot up at all. Thanks to all for advice.
