Delete a profile

New Fire HD8. I created an additional profile for my son, but it isn't what i want so i want to delete it. I click on the profile and the profile name appears on the next screen, and then very briefly the settings show up and then disappear. I can't get rid of the profile because the profile page won't load. I can't turn on Parental Controls because it says i need to enter my code, but i never set one up so my unlock pin doesn't work on it. Can someone figure this out? I've done a reboot and a system cache wipe.
