Delete from pull-down notifications?

Is there any way to delete email from the pull down notifications or do I have to always go into my email app to do so? I can see how it wouldn't work when you have multiple emails and you can't see what you're swiping away but for some individual notifications it would be handy.

If you want one email at a time, the white box should pull down more and then just swipe the email away. Or just hit clear to get rid of all of them at once.

If you're using the gMail app, change the default action from Archive to Delete, then you'll get the Delete option from the notification pull down instead of the Archive option.

Thanks but I've disabled my Gmail account, these are my regular email accounts.

Yes, it deletes it from notifications but not my actual account.

You have to hide the Quick Settings first. Press and hold an item in the notifications list and slide upward, then release the press (this hides the settings). Now, long press and pull down on your e-mail notification to reveal additional lines (you can see the very top of the next one in your screenshot). There should be a button to Delete (or move to Trash). I use AquaMail, and the 2 buttons I get are Move to Trash and Mark Read.

It all depends on what app you're using for mail. Not all of them will have an option to delete from the notification tray.

I know this is an old thread, but here recently I noticed my ability to delete single emails from my notification area has dispersed? I used to be able to hold and slide down to reveal the delete/reply option, now...I have no option to pick from. Any thoughts?

Has your email app been updated recently?
Factory installed email apps tend to be updated by Android OS updates.

Which phone?
Which version of android?
Which carrier?
Which email app?
