delete photo from sd card phone

I downloaded an attatchment photo from email. I guess it went to my sd card. I found photo in gallery and deleted it from gallery. It is gone however it is still on email. Is it gone from phone? How do I delete it permanently and how do I see files on my sd card from phone

If you deleted it from your gallery it should be gone from your phone. It will likely stay in your email only until the email is deleted.

There should be a files icon in you're app drawer that you can use to check your sd card files. You could also download a file manager like astro from the market

It's under phone files. You can't change internal files unless rooted

I looked under phone files but did not see a sd card label. Is phone files the sd card.

Can you mess the phone up by accidently messing with these files and changing or deleting something by mistake.

Plug in your X to your computer as a flash drive using the USB connection for the SD card. When you plug in your X to your computer with the USB, options will show up on the notification panel at the top of your home screen. Select USB mode.

Then, you can open the SD card from your computer as if it is a flash drive, open the photos folder and check what's in there. You can drag/drop anything on the SD card to your computer and visa versa. You don't need special apps to do this. It's very efficient and works well, even as a backup of your SD card --> just drag/drop the entire contents to a folder on your computer.

You can add/delete ringtones, files, photos, etc. this way.

Can I mess the phone up under the files app if I mistakenly do something wrong.

There is nothing that you can do to access system files through that app. You would have to be rooted to really mess your phone up. That being said, I wouldn't just delete a bunch of stuff unless you know what it is.
