I'm sure its probably staring me in the face but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. I found "deselect all," which I'm taking as a sign there has to be a "select all" but just can't seem to find it. This is using the Samsung email app by the way. Thanks for your help.

couldn't tell ya that, but K-9 Mail is a much better email program, it's very simple to select all then delete them!

In the GMAIL app, you have to select each "conversation" individually. Then you can delete them all at once. However much it doesn't make sense to not have a "select all", it might be because all the emails/conversations aren't loaded at once. You have to scroll to get "loading more...", etc. Maybe that's why? Not sure.

I also use k-9 mail, much better than the default client. Highly recommend it and it's free.

I use K-9 mail too. Its a ton better then the default app like everyone is saying.

I am able to swipe (right) across the email listing and it selects it. Swipe across many then hit the trash button. If you accidently swipe the wrong one you can left swipe to unselect it.
