Deleting Preloaded Apps

Hi everyone!

I'm still fairly new to figuring how to use my Droid Razr. I have a Verizon model and I was wondering if there is any way to delete or remove any of the preloaded apps that came on the OS? I don't use about 90% of what actually came on the phone, and honestly, even though they're in the background and not really hurting anyone, I see no need to keep them if I will never use them.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

There is two options.

1. Root the device to completely remove it from the device.

2. JellyBean (Android 4.1.x) has the option to disable or (freeze) some of your applications on the device thru the application manager. Although some apps still seem to run even after being disabled so its not as effective as many would like so there is always option #1. I'm not familiar with the Droid Razr and if its even updated to Jellybean yet but it was worth mentioning anyhow.

Deleting those apps will prevent you from receiving the ota when its pushed.

If you are rooted you can use titanium backup to freeze anything you like.

Good point about the removal of apps stopping the OTA updates.

But most people should understand or take into consideration if your willing to root your device you normally give up the option to receive OTA's or start using custom ROMs.

This man speaks it.

With the razr as long as stock apps are installed you can get OTA even when rooted. A lot of people, even if they use custom roms will upgrade to JB.
