Hi I recently switched from an iphone to the samsung galaxy 3 when I set it up I synced all my photo albums and contacts from facebook and am realizing I would like to delete them but cannot figure out how!

Welcome to Android Central! Not sure if this will work, but open Facebook on your phone, tap the menu button at the upper left, scroll down and tap App Settings. Then tap Sync Photos and select not to sync any more.

For contacts, go to System Settings/Accounts-Facebook, and uncheck Contacts. The next time the phone syncs, I think those contacts should go away--hopefully you don't have to manually clear them.

I tried both of these things and it didnt work, I cannot delete the photos in my gallary from facebook albums this may have stopped new ones from appearing
Though.

The contacts even when I try to manually delete them it says they are only hidden and cannot be deleted

Not sure this is what you're looking for, but in the Contacts app, press the Menu button, select 'Contacts to display' and then in the next dialog make an appropriate selection that eliminates the Facebook contacts.

In your Gallery, well, just go in and manually delete all of the pictures that you don't want.
