Deleting unwanted SMS messages

Hiya,

I keep getting SMS messages from spam companies and don't know how to block them.

With most SMS messages i get 3 dots in the top right corner and have a list of options that includes 'Block number'

With these spam companies though, all I get is a delete button, and no option to block.

Does anyone know what I can do about this?

Are you using stock messenger? On mine on the top on the right hand side it says block number.

I'm not sure what Stock Messenger is.

I'm just using the Messages app that comes with the S10 (blue icon with a white speech bubble and blue dots on it). On some messages I have the 3 dots in the top right and, with these spam ones, I just have a delete icon.

Textra has an option to blacklist any SMS message received.

Thats stock messenger. Weird it doesn't have that. Under the 3 dots for me it has add contact or block. When you delete it what happens?

Like I've said, I do have the 3 dots and the option to block on some SMS messages, just not the ones from these spam companies.

If I hit delete it just deletes the message when actually, what I want to do, is block the company contacting me again. These spam companies don't have telephone numbers, which is probably something to do with it.

Yeah these companies spoof a number to spam. Even if you could block the number they likely would never use the same one twice. Textra is a good app.
