I haven't wanted to receive my large daily volume of email on my mobile phone, so I created a special mobile email account on one of my mail servers. That email address is known only to a few people and never receives spam.
However, I am about to leave on long trip, so last night I configured IMAP access to several of my regular email accounts at various domains so I will be able respond to business emails on my trip. Those accounts do receive some spam that usually is easy to identify merely from subject lines, so they can be safely deleted without exposure to the malware risk of opening them.
Overnight some spam was received and I was surprised to find that there is no obvious way to delete emails without opening them. Is that true or am I overlooking something? Given that spam is a common vector for Trojans, viruses and other malware it is difficult to believe anyone would write an email client that doesn't have a way to delete messages without viewing them, but that seems to be the case. I am overlooking something?
