We know what the features and specs of the G4 are. Imagine you're allowed to change one aspect of the design. What would it be?

I think I'll take an auto opening and closing protector for that camera lens, as on digital cameras.

I like the design so far, my only wish would be for 3rd parties to make their own custom back plates. It would be great to have one with a rubberized finish like the nexus 5, or perhaps even an aluminum backplate to give the phone a more htc/iphone like handling experience.

Yes, a bit of metal would be nice....as long as it doesn't interfere with the radios. Seems okay on other phones, though.
A rubbery grippy finish would indeed be good if you prefer to go caseless.

I don't know where you get the idea of a physical home button though. Are there phones that have that feature?

Yeah, optical zoom would be nice, too! And a built in micro-tripod. Three little legs that would come out a port at the bottom, enough to hold the phone steady and upright.

I would replace the plastic frame with metal and put "iphone-like ceramic" on the front, that with CM12 and keeping

Definitely agree about the metal frame. I'd also like to include wireless charging, though the recent news about quick charge makes me feel better about not having wireless.

I'd like to see a personalization like the Moto Maker. Give everyone a choice of backs (avoiding this carrier exclusive lunacy), allow them to choose internal storage, external color, boot up messages and images, etc.

Notice too that the G4 allows you to customise the positions of the screen navigation buttons. Thus the needs of the habituated Samsung user are accommodated. It does not work the other way round....use a Samsung and you have to go bottom right for Back whether you like it or not. Since I'm used to going bottom left on all my Androids....and WP....Samsungs are virtually unusable for me.
