This seems to be a category that has largely gone out of fashion. But I like my desktop screen pointed to photos I add to a list, and then it changes every few minutes as I set it up.
I used to use a program called Panorama. It had limitations. More full featured is Wallpaper Master Pro. That does most of what I want including allow me to include a file list without importing photos to a separate directory--in other words, it will find the photos where they are. It allows display to be customized. It can rotate between directories at random.
For the most part, it's what I want. However, it is way out of date. It seems like it has gone years without an update. Although I say "Pro," I can't actually upgrade to Pro because the payment link no longer works. My guess is the programmer passed. No contact info is valid any more. It really needs some upgrades/ tweaks for Win 11 (I'd say, it was probably designed for XP), and some features need to be more reliable. Although I set up files in some 15 directories to rotate through, for instance, somehow it will show certain files often even when there are hundreds that are rarely if ever shown. (Admittedly, I have a browser up--so I don't always know what's being displayed.) Still, it seems to have a bug or two.
SO, I hunt around for a replacement. I've yet to find one that does better and is maintained. Any ideas?
