Desperately need recovery help... I think

I have a MyTouch 3g with the 3.5mm on top. I've softbricked it. When turning on, I get a boot loop (after the green MyTouch splash, the HTC logo appears, disappears, appears, so on, and will do that until the phone dies.)

Home+Power will bring up a screen with an exclamation inside a triangle and a phone underneath. Not the usual recovery screen. I've tried downloading recovery images (clockwork and amon-ra), renaming to recovery.img and putting them in uncompressed sappimg.zip files and flashing in fastboot, but after it "checks" the zip it goes back to the fastboot screen like nothing happened.

I've been trying to push the recovery image, but I can't get ADB access without turning debugging on, right? Because I can't do that when the phone doesn't even boot... right?

TLDR; All I have is fastboot, won't boot, no recovery, no ABD, halp please before my husband kills me and hides the body lol.. i'd even be willing to donate a few bucks to the kind soul that points me in the right direction.. :'(

I know how to do this.watch this youtube video and skip ahead How to Master Reset a Mytouch 3g - YouTube just hold the power and home buttton until you see the triangle page.then touch home button.that didn't work for me so i held the home and power button once again.if this doesnt work for you search for youtube with the keyword hard reset and mytouch.g1 is also like the mytouch so i recommend searching with that as well.im pretty sure this will work.good luck
