Developer Status

Can someone please explain this to me. My husband uses several different Android phones. So here's my question: what is developer status, how do you do it and why would he tell me.

Developer Options is the correct term he's looking for, not status.
You do it by tapping a line in the settings 7 to 10 times.
It allows you to do a few tweaks and is helpful for app writers.
Why he told you, I have no idea. It's nothing special.
