DI09 update erased root access

I had root access, didn't know the Verizon update would tamper with things and now cannot regain root access. I have tried a few different suggestions and am totally lost. I see I can use this "Odin" to restore stock but do not want to lose all of the Apps i have purchased some and I have a ton of them. Any help would be nice, I am also pretty new to all of this and some of the "lingo" I don't quite understand.

did you try method 2 a couple times, sometimes you need to do it more than twice

and if that didnt work , did you try method 3?

i get to ./rage.bin and then it doesn't reboot device and doesn't go back to c:\fascinateroot_v02>

let it sit and wait some people said it took like half hour for them

only took a couple mins for me

if I switch windows and leave command prompt window in background will that affect anything?

no it shouldnt,,,,krootz had this problem last night, he was worried cause he was frozen for 15 mins, i told him to wait... then the command prompt kicked back after 27 mins

ok... so i was trying this again while at school, and my gf got pissed at me because I was "ignoring" her, didn't get a number of texts or a call, is that a sign that it was doing whatever it was supposed to be doing?
